Every year, I (and a couple of my batch girls) volunteer our services during the National Day Parade (rehearsals and actual day). From 12pm to 8pm, we all work on the 1000+ participants, adding colours, glitters and shine to their faces. It’s always been a pleasure for us, no matter how hectic and tiring it may be. Because not only are we all doing what we love , but also it gives us girls an opportunity to catch up with each other! This year again I was called by Cosmoprof, asking if we wanted to volunteer our services and I instantly agreed. However, I was taken by surprise when the lady who called, mentioned something else.
She gave me a huge shock, (which I am still recuperating from!) that froze me instantly but also couldn’t stop me from smiling with glee.
She said she needed me for all 5 days of the rehearsal (and the actual day) because they wanted me to do the makeup … not for the participants… but for the ARTISTS!!
I literally froze for a few seconds before agreeing to what she said.
In times like these, I thank YOU all
You may probably feel you play no part in this because you just read my blog when you fancy but its you, my readers, who make me smile.
Its you who provide me with the words of encouragement that helps me stay strong and persist with whatever I do.

Giving a talk on Makeup at “Aurat! 2008″ Women’s Retreat

“Aurat! 2008 - Because Kaur Is More!”
Last weekend, the group Aurat, set out to create a 3 day long retreat for women all over Singapore. It was held at Changi Fairy Point Chalet and apart from the fun filled games, and motivational talks, I was very honoured to be asked to give a crashcourse on Makeup.
With my dear friend Sid, as my model, I set out to explain to the ladies there, the basics of makeup.
The room was filled with “oooh”s and “aahhh”. That made me smile, knowing I had imparted my knowledge to the ladies there. They had tonnes of questions which was rather good and not only did I answer them alone, but others’ gave their feedback and suggestions too.
It was indeed an amazing experience for me
