REVIEW- STAGE Burlesque Ball

Last week I came home and was greeted to a lovely surprise. STAGE Burlesque Ball Palette and Wonderkiss LipCreme.
I got the palette in ‘04 Scandal’ and the Lipcreme in ‘01-Coy’
PALETTE- 04 SCANDAL (SGD65)
The palette is to die for! The colours are intense, even without an eyeshadow base! and SUPER shimmery. At first I thought I wouldnt like it cuz it was so shimmery but after having using it for 4 days straight, I can tell this is easily going to be a staple palette for me. For my own personal use to be carried around in my makeup pouch.
See, first off, the colours are not crazy bold or dark colours, they’re soft and lovely. Thus I carry them around, cuz I always use minimal or NO makeup to work, but I LOVE accentuating my browbone with highlight and this palette has the prettiest white-ish shimmer eyeshadow for the browbone. The high shine, isnt TOO much, if you blend it well. I love applying it to my highlight AND inner corners of my eye to give that lil ‘POP’!
Also, the 3rd shade in this palette, is a GORGEOUS champagne gold. Ive been in search for a champagne gold for the longest time ever and this is starting to be my new found love. Its such a lovely colour. Reason being, it can be applied TWO ways!
(1)LIGHTLY for a natural tone, with a nice shine on the lids. Especially if you’re similar skin tone as me. Its a pretty neutral shade for me, so on days I dont want to look too made up, I use this all over the lid, and it provides a nice SHINE!
(2)LAYER it on for a more intense colour pay off, and the champagne gold is amazing when paired with a DARK colour at the outer corner for a smokey eye look.
This is why I adore this palette so much! One side of the palette has all the soft pretty colours for everyday use, and the other side has slightly darker colours that can be used to touch up your makeup , for a night out, after work/school!
With Flash (NO eyeshadow base)
Used the champagne gold colour on my lids. Colour was not too strong, but still had a pretty shine!
WONDERKISS LIP CREME- 01 COY (SGD28)
True to its name “lip CREME”… The Wonderkiss is ultra smooth and colour glides on easily. I personally like to use this layered over my favourite Lip Pencil (Stage Lip Pencil in Chocolate Charm). This particular colour, ‘COY’ is not VERY sheen, but not totally opaque either. Thus, the palette and Lipcreme combination is FANTASTIC! Not too strong, yet makes a statement!
I don’t use the LipCreme as often as I use the Palette, cuz it has a bit of a mettallic finish to it, which isnt up to my fancy, It may be nice to some, but for those who know me, Im not a huge lip person. I always go natural with the lips whilst I play up the eyes. Nonetheless, I like the texture of it on my lips. I just slapped some on my lips now as Im typing this, and I cant stop puckering my lips! LOL The smooth texture is indeed very alluring.

TheBalm Cosmetics
So Im sure most of you are already aware of TheBalm cosmetics line in SASA. I saw it at Wisma about 3 weeks back but didnt take a second look. However yesterday whilst waiting for my cousin, I wandered around Marina Sq, Iwent to SASA cuz I had heard about the 7% rebate (that ended yesterday. Apparently they were minus-ing off the 7% GST storewide, up till yesterday so I went to stock up on my favourite 4 piece sponges
Thats when I saw TheBalm and decided to take a look!
The blushers totally enticed me and I got “HotMama” !
And then whilst looking at their other products (I love their eyeshadows as well! But I hate stuffs that cant be placed in palette, so I passed), I saw one of their brushes that was totally familiar! Their angled brush!
Then I realized I have the same one at home! I had purchased it online early lastyear! I absolutely adore it! Its similar to the MAC #275, cept ALOT more smaller and not as stiff as the #275. I prefer the #275 still cuz when the brush is stiff, you get a more precise shape but with this BALM brush, its not too bad, It may not be as stiff, but it wrks just as fine. Im sorry I forgot to take note of the price, but its definitely cheaper than MAC’s #275 , so for those who want smthg similar, get the BALM’s brush.
So on to the Blusher. As mentioned, I purchased HOT MAMA!
I really liked the colour. It was peachy (MY FAV!!) with subtle touch of gold undertones!
I even tried it on last night before my guests came over for dinner. It was subtle yet super glowy n peachy!
And as I was on my way to work today, it hit me that the HOTMAMA blush is pretty darn similar to NARS ORGASM! Cept NARS took afew swipes before it appeared on my cheeks. HotMama came on effortlessly! I searched online and realized I’m not the only one who thinks NarsOrgams and Hotmama are similar.
Its pretty similar, so for those who want Nars Orgasm but dont have a CreditCard to order online or find its too ex, then get TheBalm’s HOT MAMA!!

Also while at Marina Square, I went to JohnLittles and JL , as you know, has alot of cosmetic brands too! From Mialni, to ELF, to TAXI, to LA splash etc.
A new brand caught my eye, however. Elain Colorist (Link: http://www.elaincosmetics.com/ )
This one particular product got me swatchin!
Pretty vibrant colours but the applicator was useless and made product fly all over the place!
M.A.C. COSMETICS
I was also thrilled to come home to a parcel! My MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator finally arrived!!
I’ve yet to try it out cuz I’m still in the midst of testing out the ElizabethArden Prevage product but rest assured, I will post a review on this once I’ve tried it!
Fresh Minerals Cosmetics
Another new brand that I spotted was at SASA at Marina Square. FRESH MINERALS!
The packaging was clean and professional looking , and though they didnt have a huge variety, the products seemed nice.
Not too sure if other Sasa’s have them, but this one was at MarinaSquare

DIY CD Palette

I’m sure many of you have seen this DIY CD cas Palette before. Its nothing new, and has been used by many girls all over the internet. I didnt see the need of it, until last week when I received some eyeshadow pans I had purchased online and realized I had NO PALETTE left to fill them in! So I whipped out an old CD case and removed the CD and arranged the eyehsadow pans in a circular shape around the CD insert.
Its REALLY easy, and ANYONE can do it! You can build a whole collection of CD palettes, each for a different shade! It would be creative indeed! And for the cover, you can print something out or use a magazine cut out. I just used a basic magazine cut out on the outside, and on the inside, I pasted the labels of the Eyeshadow! (I used strong double sided sticky tape to stick the eyeshadows down, You can use super glue also if you wush)

So basically MUA cosmetics is a local brand, BUT they ship INTERNATIONALLY too! And they REALLY have amazing products. Im being frank here! So far I dislike the concealer only(but Ive yet to try other shades) but I like everything else! From the brilliant eyeshadow colours, to the wide variety of foundation colours (All the darker/tanned shade girls would LOVE the variety!), to their soft brushes, and sparkly lipglosses! Oh the list goes on!

My most FREQUENTLY USED and LOVED MAC eyeshadows

I’ve had ALOT of people asking me lately about colours and recomendations, or what I use so out of all my palettes, Ive taken my most frequently used ones, and decided to share some of my fav colours:
(ALL FROM M.A.C ONLY)
I initially had like 5 OR 6 MAC 15-pan palettes but then bought two 28-pan palettes from starsmakeuphaven.com and its so much more lighter than the MAC palettes. And easier for me cuz instead of 4 , I now carry around TWO palettes! There’s no particular order in which I arranged them, just kinda trying to colour co-ordinate but then just went ahead anyhow since I had 58 colours to deal with!
This is one of my favourite part of the 2nd palette, the greens and blues! I love these colours and you can see they are pretty much similar(yet somehow
different!) Oh and the sratch marks on the eyeshadows are cuz sometimes when I use a colour too often, I scrape off the first layer incase its harbourin any germs etc.
and from the first palette, I love the “smokey eye” colours:
Colours like Sketch, BeautyMarked, Carbon , Trax and TopHat are my absolute FAVs for Smokey eyes
!
Also from MAC, my highlight palette. Its basically all the neutrals,whites, offwhites, highlight shades, and GOLDS!
These are my MOST used colours:
You can get Vanilla EYESHADOW or VANILLA Pigment(more shimmer) but I prefer Vanilla pan eyeshadow cuz its more neutral looking. It may look like a strong colour but it comes off very subtle on fair skin. If you’re a lil darker or tanned, go for sunseed mixed with Nylon or sunseed mixed with dazzlelight! Sunseed is a lil more matte and toned down colour compared to vanilla. Slight peach undertone to it, so I mix it with dazzlelight for my indian clients and it gives a nice wash of colour, without being too overbearing. sometimes the colours that suit you best are the ones that are mixed/blended yourself!
and lastly from MAC, my blusher palette:
I’ve taken the liberty to type the names of my most used blusher colours from MAC. Mostly used on Indian skintones and tanned skintones.
RAIZIN is a brilliant colour for contouring! I use it on practically all my clients! It is very subtle on darker skintones which is GOOD! Cuz it gives a more realistic illusion of contouring!
for highlight, I love Enoughsaid for fairer skintones and MARGIN for tanned skin tones and darker tones. Its got such a pretty GLOW that doesnt look too Strong!
oh and COPPERTONE is my new found LOVE!! Coppertone is a lovely MATTE peachy shade! I mix it with MARGIN on great for tanned/darker skin tones, to give a lovely peachy sheen!
So those are my highly recommended and MOST used and LOVED MAC eyeshaodws and blushers! Hope it helps some of you
Launch of a New Local Makeup brand!

Its started off as an online shop, and this new brand, though local, has become a hit with me in less than 4 hours! Its pretty much NEW (few weeks/mth old) and Im sure many have not heard of it.
I was called to do makeup for a shoot for them last weekend and I tried their products.
Only one item was a miss(the concealer) but everything else was a huge hit for me!
Im not gng to post the brand name out yet. (No its not UrbanDecay or any fancy overseas brand, but it has proved that locals can do a fab job as well!)This is just a teaser :D
To be honest, I have ALOT more that I took of the products but I didnt want you guys to find out YET so here are some pics of the shoot 
I made sure you guys you cant see the name!!
(But the black tubes reminded me of Givency. Its the exact same shape/size and the compacts reminded me of bobbiBrown. So alot of high end brand inspirations yet, this is a local brand…. am I teasing you too much yet?? )
