I tag YOU!

These are some questions that I was tagged few weeks back so I’m posting it here and tagging whoever else has a blog. Which means you have to answer these questions too, on your blog! :)
Or if you dont have a blog but still want to answer them, then reply it in the COMMENT (not tagboard please) :)

1) What are your make items must have(s)?
Concealer is my top priority! Followed by pencil eyeliner and mascara. I can do without the rest of the makeup but these three are a TOTAL must have for me!

2) Did you ever buy a make up item/tool which you end up not using or regretted buying?
I guess I do have a bunch of items that I bought on impulse, and in the end, they just sit in my drawer for a long time before I realize I actually have it! My biggest weakness are PALETTES! Mainly because They are so compact and easy to carry around. But now I have too many palettes and tend to take some of them for granted! (I should probably do a video on my collection soon)

3) What do you usually carry in your make up bag?
Im referring to my own little makeup pouch, not my whole makeup kit..I have my sponge, concealer, eyeliner, mascara, chapstick, n compact powder of course.

4) In your opinion which is more important, or rather which comes first, product quality or application technique?
Application technique.I’m not saying this because Im a professional, but because if you dont know how to apply the most prettiest colour then its a total WASTE. Im being brutally honest here. If you keep buying all those pretty bold pigmented colours but not know how to apply them, then its all gone down the drain! You need nothing more than confidence and proper techniques, to be able to carry off any colour! Majority of my past makeup class students never dared wear colours, but now I get so happy see them posting photos of such great eyeshadow colours, Blue, Yellow, Greens! :)

5) On a scale of 5, how ‘important’ is make up to you?
11! … not because its my career, but because its also my passion!

6) What’s your signature make-up style?
I believe I’m known for my love for ‘Bold looks’. I simply adore bright colours, and appreciate how they can captivate the eyes without looking overly dramatic. I love experimenting with the variety of cosmetic brands available.

7) Whats your most treasured/prized makeup item?
I have TWO treasured makeup possessions! One would definitely be my Makeup Forever eyeshadow palette that consists of 12 intensely pigmented colours. It cost me a whopping $380 but it was well worth the money cuz I personally feel MUFE(MakeupForever) has the best colourpayoff and intensity for their eyeshadows. Another is my YABY Palette! Its a small palette that cost me almost $200 but it has AMAZING colour pay off’s as well. I only wished the palette was bigger! (Yaby isnt available in singapore, watch this video for details: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAYK7ox2wsk )

Have you heard of Fred Farrugia??

I’ve been postin alot of my ‘hauls’ or makeup buys on my other blog, mainly because I thought it wouldnt be right to flood this blog with my purchases but Ive been getting many ppl asking where I buy stuff and what I use, so I decided to start posting here as well!! To start off, I shall post my hauls from today!

SEPHORA!
FRED FARRUGIA! (http://www.fredfarrugia.com/)
I was totally floored by this genius creation! Its this awesome compact case where you can basically choose what you want to have to carry along!

You can choose from: Eyeshadows, CreamEyeshadows, GelEyeliner, Lipgloss,Lipstick, Blusher, Foundation, Concealer, Compact Powder. SERIOUSLY! And you can have up to 8 like “slide out”s. They are currently only available at Orchard ION’s Sephora. Fred Farrugai.

Current promo is, Choose 4 slides, $35 per slide, and top up $5 for the front n back casing, and you pay $110 for it in total. (Regular pricing would be about $140)

COOL OR WHAT?
But to be honest, variety is rather small! Not much to choose from, and my gf who was with me pointed out that if you buy the eyeshadows, you have to like BOTH colours cuz you cant just buy one, it comes in a duo form. But I assure you the colours are heavily pigmented! Have a look!

It even comes with thissuper cute lil ‘sock’ casing for it!

You can choose to have lipgloss, eyeshadow, blusher to make it more compact to be brought out but you know me, I love eyeshadows! the blusher and lipstick colours didnt appeal to me so I bought all 3 eyeshadow slides

Such brilliant colours + shimmer + payoff!

Ok not entirely all eyeshadows, these are CREAM eyeshadows and I would probably use them as bases!

So YES, PLEASE do go down to ION Sephora and check it out! Super adorable, super creative! and if you find colours that you love then you may be able to create awhole makeup pouch in one Fred Farrugai swivel case! Id suggest getting one compact or concealer slide, one blusher slide, one eyeshadow slide and one lipgloss/lipstick slide! :D

Let me know your views!

WHAT ARE ‘YOUR’ VIEWS ON TESTERS AT MAKEUP COUNTERS?

Elizabeth Arden Private Bloggers event

Last night, a few of us beauty bloggers were selected to attend the private launch of the Prevage Anti Aging Moisturizer by Elizabeth Arden. The product hits our Singapore counters next week! (Takashimaya only apparently)

Prevage has launched a new product, an anti aging moisturizer with an SPF 30! I’m not going to go much into the product till I myself have ‘tried and tested’ it. I was a little skeptical about it at first because, ….well, lets face it, I’m obviously a makeup person… I’m not a skincare person at all! The only skincare I use is my Neutrogena facial wash that helps remove all traces of makeup each night before I go to bed! But the workshop last night left alot of us ladies, very impressed with the Prevage products. It basically is more of a clinical product, rather than cosmetic. What I mean is basically underlined in their tagline : “PROOF, not PROMISES”

Some of you may be asking, “anti aging?? at this age??”
Prevention is better than cure :)
And as a makeup artist, to be honest, makeup can only do so much for you. At the end of the day, you wash off your makeup, and see your naked face, THAT is what should make you smile. Our skin is like a canvas. And if the canvas is not even, not clean, then no amount of makeup will provide any long term difference. Dark circles, fine lines, eyebags, wrinkles , dark spots… as much as they can be concealed with makeup, it provides a short period of satisfaction. Taking care of your skin FIRST, will ensure a longer term satsifaction.

Over the next few weeks, I will try out the Prevage anti aging moisturizer, and will do my review on this blog, providing my honest opinion/feedback on the product. So stay tuned!

For now, I leave you with some photos from last night :
