FacesBySarah & Memsaab Fashion Show
Posted by sarah | Filed under Daily Bread, events
20th December 2009, Dhoby Gaut’s Xmas Carnival showcased a fashion show organized by me, for FacesBySarah and Memsaab.
(You can purchase the brilliant outfits at Memsaab, Selegie Centre. Just enter the building, and go up the first flight of stairs. You cant miss it!)
BACKSTAGE

Showtime!!

My unexpected appearance on stage. They presented us(me and owner of Memsaab outfits) with a bouquet, which my sister had sneakily and lovingly bought and told the models to hand to me when I came on stage! I WAS SO SHY!!

And then we had to walk to the other stage (where the BOOTHS were, and they conducted a mini interview!

Overall, the experience was overwhelming! From the panicky moments of replacing models, rushing to get the models out in time during their change, to the lovely moments of being called up on stage to be thanked for the show. It was an amazng joint effort. I couldnt have done it without these people:
Aunty Shahidah- Owner of Memsaab boutique
She was very co-operative and took the time to plan and discuss the outfits for each model.
Maala Sashi
An old friend, who painstakingly took time out of her busy schedule to fit me and the girls in, to have a rehearsal for the catwalk, and trained each and every one of the models with the walking and turns.
My 9 models: Arveen, Alafiyah, Eyn, Eli, Sapna, Saras, Fiona, Jaishree, Preeti
Thank you all for your time, your patience, and most importantly, your faith in me. Especially with the models, who took this on at the last minute. I truly appreciate your effort! The show may have been hectic backstage, but the show went professionally and very smoothly from the audience viewing. You ladies did a brilliant job!
My family & friends
For their endless support. Guiding me through, keeping me sane, and coming down to support me on my special day.
2009, has been a busy year, but it has been filled with amazing memories that will last a lifetime
With that, I bid farewell to 2009, and thank you ALL for the support, and hope you will continue to instill your faith in me in the years to come.
Have a blessed and Happy New Year, everyone!

I-nouvi Brush cleaner ( REVIEW)
Posted by sarah | Filed under Daily Bread
Last week I was at vivocity and wanted to buy I-nouvi eyeshadows to fill up the new empty palette I had bought recently from I-nouvi.
Apart from selecting two eyeshadows, I also picked up their brush cleaner to try it out.
Read on for my verdict.
First off, here are the two lovely eyeshadow shades I got. Only ater I depotted them and threw out the boxes, did I realize (the next day!) that I didnt take note of the eyeshadow number. Once I find out the numbers, I will post it up!

I-nouvi Brush cleaner, and my dirty MAC #222 brush I had just used earlier today on a bride who wanted smokey eyes! ![]()

Spritz some product on a clean tissue paper

Dab the brush repeatedly , top and bottom, all over, till you get it clean!

And after barely 2 minutes… VOILAAAAAA! My brush feels brand new!

VERDICT: I L♥VE IT! In my line of career, ive tried various different brush cleaners. Im a brush cleaner FREAK! I love cleaning my brushes (even if there’s 60 of them!). Its just pleasing, knowing you have clean, brushes! They make u feel more hygenic too! SO Ive tried a few. The brush cleaner from Cosmoprof, has a higher concentration of alcohol, and that’s a very good brush cleaner!! BUT its a little strong, and if it touches your hands, you get a slight burning feeling for a while. Nothing dangerous, but not entirely safe either. The MAC brush cleaner is not exactly a favourite. Some how I find it doesnt clean well. and I always get mixed reviews from people. Some say use it directly, some say mix with water. Well Ive tried both ways, both were just average. Other brands arent even worth mentioning. But I-Nouvi Brush cleaner is now my new favourite.

Launch of Adidas 2010 collection
Posted by sarah | Filed under events
I did makeup for an event last week at VivoCity. It was for Adidas, and they had a line up of footballs in glass casing, and on the stage, curtains covered a big replica of a football. It was the official unveiling of “Jabulani”, the Official Matchball of World Cup 2010.
Apart from a beatboxer and awesome samba dancers, there was a fashion show where the models were showcasing the latest Adidas World Cup 2010 Collection.I had a fun time, especially because the models were a fun bunch. The guys especially. Joking around with us, camwhoring and dancing!
The show began only at 12midnight (yes, we were outside Vivocity at midnight dng makeup and hair.LOL). This is because, apparently it was happening at the exact same time for all countries worldwide and there was a live feed from all the countries (Including Singapore) to South Africa cuz S.Africa is next yr’s host country
Onto the pics! (courtesy of Faz )
