REVIEW: Make Up For Ever Lab Shine Lip Gloss
Posted by sarah | Filed under Daily Bread
In case you havent already noticed, Im a huge fan of MakeupForever cosmetics. They NEVER cease to amaze me with their brilliance. From the AllMat primer, to the crazy smudgeproof, waterproof AquaCream eyeshadows and now the LIPGLOSS!

I love lipglosses but Im also someone who probably eats away my lipstick/gloss by mid day so having tried this new gloss, Im super duper crazy excited about the new LABSHINE SERIES!
WHAT IS IT: LabShine lipglosses offer a unique, shiny effect and ultra bright effect. It comes in 35 brilliant shades and in 3 different series: Diamond collection, Star Collection, Metal Collection.
The Diamond Collection: sheer coverage, natural effect, sparkling shine
The Metal Collection: high coverage, chrome shine
The Star Collection: medium coverage, pearly shine
I got a chance to play around with two sample sized lipglosses from the Diamond & Metal collection:

MY THOUGHTS: I had the gloss on my lips and instantly I felt as though I had slathered on some moisturizing lip balm! Despite the glitter effect, I dont find the gloss drying. You know how some lipglosses that have glitter in it, tend to give a pretty dry and rough feeling to the lips. Not for this one! It almost feels velvety smooth..which brings me to my next reason why I love this.. ITS TOTALLY NON STICKY! Like I kept rubbing my lips together but there was no stick feeling. INSTANTLY, I was sold! I cannot wait to get my hands on the full size glosses!!
WILL I BUY IT AGAIN: YES! Infact I want to buy the various different shades from the 3 different collections!
WHERE TO BUY IT: come mid August 2010, this lipgloss will be available at all MakeupForever Counters (Orchard Ion Sephora, NgeeAnncity Sephora, StamfordHouse, etc)

Sponsored Haul: MAKEUPSHOW Brushes
Posted by sarah | Filed under Daily Bread
The lovely CHLOE from 7bella.com, contacted me few weeks back to get my address as she wanted to send me a couple of brushes from MAKEUPSHOW brushes. MakeupShow is the LEADING cosmetics brushes brand in China. It carries a wide range of products with supreme quality, aesthetic designs, and versatile functionality, but with competitive prices! I was super excited ofcourse, as you know Im a huge brush-a-holic(I have 100 or more brushes at the moment!)
When my parcel arrived, I ripped open the paper to see a soft, sleek brush roll. It even had the brand name MAKEUPSHOW embossed on the inside. I went straight into the brushes and checked them out individually.

Price of brush roll DOES NOT INCLUDE Brushes

Face Brushes

#20P 01 - Powder/Blush Brush

The fiery bright red totally caught my eye! I love brushes that have different coloured bristles, other than the usual black or brown!
#H01 Powder Brush

#H02 - Blusher Brush

This looks similar to the #H01 brush but this is smaller in length and this brush is more dome shaped, as opposed to #H01 which is more rounded
#22B 01 - Large Contour Brush

This one is FABULOUS for contouring. I tried it out for my regular cheek contouring and I didnt need to go back to the blusher for a 2nd time as this brush delivered an ample amount of product
#H03 - Foundation Brush

Ive never been a huge fan of applying foundation with brushes, but I do have some good foundation brushes that I own just incase. But when I tried this brush, I think I might just end up being a convert! I LOVE this brush! You could say the bristles and application method is similar to the MAC’s stippling brush #187. (and possibly a cheaper alternative too!)

The bristles are soft..SOO SOO SOFT! and it didnt feel rough or harsh on my face!I hate brushes that look soft and look pretty etc but are “poke-y” on the face! this felt marvellous! So soft that I after applying my foundation, I went on to use this stippling brush to apply concealer to my under eye too. Amazing, I tell you!
Eye Brushes
#8S 02 - Small Angled contour Brush

This reminds me of the MAC #275, which is one of my highly recommended brushes! I simply adore fluffy angled brushes as they are amazing for outer corner eyeshadow application!
#7S 01 - Small highlight Brush

Crease brushes are COMPULSORY! I own about 4 -5 crease brushes and still cant get enough of em! A good crease brush will ease your outer corner and crease blending whilst applying eyeshadow. Although its description states its a highlighter brush, I would prefer to use this as a crease brush. Its brush may not be as pointed as other crease brushes but its best when you want to “smoke out” the outer corners of your eyes!
#8E 05 - Medium Shader Brush

A basic eyeshadow or shader brush is one not to be missed out too. In my opinion, you should own atleast 3-4 of these. I have many of these type of ’shade brushes’ in various sizes as when you’re working with colours, you dont want to mix brushes with different colours as it may mess up the look!
#3E 01 - Eyeliner Brush

I like this brush because, even though its an eyeliner brush, you really can use it for other application! It can be used as a concealer brush, and a lip brush too, because of its pointed tip which helps with a precise application.
#5S 02 - Small angled Shading brush

A smaller version of the #8S 02 brush. Why? Simply for an even MORE precise application!
#10E 01 - Large Blending Brush
This pointed brush is similar to that of a smudger brush. Great for smudging the lashline if you’re going for a smokey eye look, or even if you’re going for a VERY precise crease line
MY THOUGHTS: So far I have absolutely NO complain! I love the brushes! they do a fab job, and there is no hair shed and best part, its so soft on the skin! I also like the fact that they are good quality products but are reasonably priced!
WILL I BUY IT AGAIN: Most definitely will be purchasing their other brushes!

FacesBySarah’s Top Ten MUST-Have!
Posted by sarah | Filed under Daily Bread, Tips & Tricks
If I asked you to tell me ONE thing you cannot live without(makeup wise), you’d probably end up with a list of more than 4 products for sure! Who are we kidding, we cant choose just ONE product!
That being said, here’s my list of TOP TEN MUST HAVES!

1. MAKEUP FOREVER ALLMAT PRIMER

WHY I LOVE IT: Ive raved about this countless number of times, and have posted a review HERE a well. The MakeupForever All Mat Primer is by far one of the most brilliant products Ive used! I love it for so many reasons! Firstly, it smells good. Most of my anxious bridal clients I use this on, are instantly calmed by the smell. The texture just melts into the skin, so you dont have that thick oily feeling of something lingering on your skin. This product helps to prevent your skin from being too oily. With this base, you barely need any touch ups through out the day. It helps your makeup stay put all day(and night!). And another favourite reason, is because it doesnt emphasize your fine lines/wrinkles! Other primers i apply at my under eye will emphasize my lines, but this product doesnt. Need any more persuasion to get it??
AVAILABLE AT (Singapore): MakeupForever Stamford House, Sephora Ion, Sephora Ngee Ann City, Sephora GreatWorldCity.
2.Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Tinted Moisturizer-SPF15

WHY I LOVE IT: I have NEVER been a fan of tinted moisturizers. For two reasons, I always had this impression that the shade will never be suitable for someone of my skintone. Also because to me, a tinted moisturizer barely provides any coverage. But this product prooved me WRONG. Firstly, its a 2-in-1 product, foundation and moisturizer. And better yet, it has an SPF15. When I applied it on my face, I was blown away by how light weight it felt. Almost has if you were not wearing anything on your skin! and thats EXACTLY how you should feel when wearing makeup! And the coverage was just right. not too thick, but just enough to cover redness and certain blemishes. See photo comparisons HERE. Im officially a convert!
AVAILABLE AT (Singapore): All major departmental stores, Elizabeth Arden Counters
3. Amazing Cosmetics, Amazing Concealer

WHY I LOVE IT: I have panda eyes. No seriously.. my dark circles could scare off a zombie, for sure! Ive been trying MANY different concealers all these years to combat my dark circles and eventually I did manage to conceal them, after layering on 3-4 layers of certain concealers. thus resulting in a cakey under eye and emphasizing my fine lines further! But Amazing Cosmetics Concealer came to the rescue when Sephora Singapore borught it in. I was taken aback by the ridiculous pricing, at first. $42 for a small(and I do mean SMALL) tube and $63 for the larger tube. But then when I started using it, I realized it wa worth every penny(and more!) First of all, you only need the tiniest amount to work with. Unlike most concealers, amazing cosmetics concealer builds up as you apply it. So you truly only need a tiny dot for each eye. and it dries(not in a skin drying kinda way) instantly so you need to blend fast. I personally use TWO shades cuz at the moment I cant find a shade that is PERFECt for me. So I use “TAN” to totally conceal my dark circles and then I use “MEDIUM BEIGE” over it to lighten the area. and voila! no one can see my hideous dark circles! Click HERE for before and After Photos.
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore) : Sephora OrchardIon, Sephora Ngee Ann City, Sephora GreatWorldCity
4.Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation

WHY I LOVE IT: Mineral makeup became a huge craze not too long ago but somehow it just never caught up with me. I didnt feel wow-ed by any mineral makeup. Probably cuz they all looked dull. Well ok, powder foundations are not exactly bright fresh bold colours but with a gadget like this, you KNOW you’d wanna own one too. I was presented with this product, by Elizabeth Arden, to see I liked it and I LOVED it. so much so that Im on my 3rd case now and ummm..I have 3 more instock on hand :p
Most makeup you apply on your skin, oxidizes because of the oil on your skin or in the product but I kid you not, this powder DOESNT. I apply it from the wee hours of the morning and by the end of the night, the only touch up I would need is from perspiration. The best part about this is that it comes in up to 8 or 9 shades! Im using #2!
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore): Major Departmental stores, Sephora Orchard Ion
5.BobbiBrown ShimmerBrick

WHY I LOVE IT: This is one product I will never be able to face my clients without! The bobbi Brown ShimmerBrick comes in various shades, all super lovely and adds a refreshng iridescence to the face. The key is to ensure you get a shade thats not too ‘white’ on your skin. you want a shade that adds a lovely GLOW, not something that looks too white or chalky on your skin. For darker/tanned skins, I recommend getting it in the shade “BRONZE”. This products is best applied on the nosebridge, and cheekbones. You can use them as eyeshadows too!
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore): TakaShimaya, Robinsons, Tangs VivoCity, Isetan, Changi Airport
6.MAC Penultimate eyeliner

WHY I LOVE IT: If this product ever pulls out of Mac, I’d be LOST. Ive used many liquid liners my life but this is by far my utmost FAVOURITE! Its SO EASY to line your eyes with this liner. The Pen-tip can create very thin defined lines, and if you use it sideways on the tip, you can get a more thicker line. The fact that its so compact and thin, and reminds you of an actual PEN, makes it alot more easier to line your eyes, has if you were literally drawing with a pen. Many other brands have come up with similar designs but somehow the MAC Penultimate wins, hands down. also because the flow of the ink is just right. not too wet and it DRIES up almost immediately for a waterproof and smudgeproof lasting liner.
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore): all MAC counters/stores
7.Makeup Forever Aqua Cream Eyeshadow

WHY I LOVE IT: MakeupForever has done it again. Yet another brilliant product! Check out my review of this amazing product HERE, together with the swatches of ALL the shades!
When I swatched them, I was very much amazed at this product. Firstly, MUFE has always been known for its bright bold colours. So its no surprise that they came up with a line of TOTALLY SMUDGEPROOF, WATERPROOF cream eyeshadows. You can use them as an eyeshadow base or you can even use them on its OWN. Check out my youtube tutorial on how I used this product. The tub contains alot of product and worth every cent! Its a multi use product so you can use it on yout eyes, cheeks, and lips!
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore): MakeupForever Stamford House, Sephora Ion, Sephora Ngee Ann City, Sephora GreatWorldCity.
8. Cargo Blu-Ray Mascara

WHY I LOVE IT: I love the smell. It has a slight fresh rosey smell thats hard to catch unless u really sniff it. I love this mascara because unlike many mascara’s, this one actually holds your curled lashes! Most other mascara’s will hold the curl of your lashes for an hour or so. but with this product, the lashes stay curled. I absolutely LOVE how it lasts through out the day. I disliked the fact that the mascara applicator was a comb, rather than a brush but Ive grown to love it since the product REALLY delivers!
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore): Unfortunately not available in Singapore, but you can purchase them online at CARGO and BEAUTY.com
9. DIOR Crayon Eyeliner Waterproof

WHY I LOVE IT: Ive come across few eyeliners that are waterproof and smudgeproof, but this beats it all cuz its all that and more. The black pigment is super rich and intense! I love a strong black rather than one thats dull and grey-ish. This comes with a sponge tip applicatior on the other side that is PERFECt for creating smokey eye looks or smudging. and it comes with its own sharpener too. Granted its from a high end luxury brand but its pretty reasonably priced and you know its worthwhile. Click HERE for my review.
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore): all major departmental stores
10. Chanel Rouge Allure #81

WHY I LOVE IT: This was my FIRST Chanel lipstick. I got instantly attracted to its earthy brown tones when this was released as part of the Spring 2010 collection. Yet another high end brand but I have no regrets as the colour is amazing, the texture is moisturizing, and the lasting power is great! Also you cant say no to such a sleek cool packaging ![]()
AVAILABLE AT(Singapore): all major departmental stores
