REVIEW: Beauty Blender

I realize I often blog about my favourite foundations or concealers but never really blog about HOW I apply them. Well for most of the liquid foundations I use, I prefer using my Chanel BLENDING FOUNDATION BRUSH #7, but for cream foundations, and precise concealer application, I use the BEAUTY BLENDER.

I first got my beautyblender in February this year when my girlfriend Malini, also a makeup artist, gifted it to me. She told me she loved using it and so bought me one to try too! I’ll be honest, I was sceptical. What could this sponge” -as i called it” do that others couldnt??

Well, too start off, the beauty blender has a “special elliptical shape that makes application foolproof by allowing you to access hard-to-reach areas with stunning ease”, as quoted by The BeautyBlender.net
It also has “unique curves to fit the contours of your face, leaving your make up dazzling and undetectable. Beautyblender is latex free, non-allergenic and odor free.”

Also just to make things clear, the beauty blender I own is only for my OWN PERSONAL USE. I use disposable sponges for my clients so I can throw them away after each use, instead of washing and reusing them on the next client.
So the Beautyblender I have has lasted me about 4 months before I bought a newone, just for my own hygenic purposes. It didnt break or give-way or anything, I just wanted a new one! :D
You can always wash your beauty blender with its special beautyblender cleanser.

See how it has one more rounder side, and the other being more pointy? I Prefer using the rounded sie to buff out foundation I use the pointy side to apply n blend concealer under my eyes cuz it has a conical like shpe so its easier to reach corners, ensuring I get a flawless application

I also noticed lately alot of other new brands mimicking the beautyblender, but they dont have the same texture it has! The beauty blender is more gentle on the skin, an this is important especially because you dont want to be tugging on your delicate under eye area.

Online beauty store LUXOLA, now sells BeautyBlender too, and they were nice enough to give me a new set! I was mostly excited to try their cleanser because I’ve tried using all sorts of bay shampoo or makeup cleanser but nothing quite cleans the beauty blender.

Few days back I posted on instagram (@facesbysarah) how I tried the BeautyBlender cleanser on my beautyblender and was blon away by how clean it made my beauty blender!

LOVING the beautyblender since Feb 2012!
